Who am I?

The artist

Mikhail Khandros was born in Odessa, Ukraine on April 29, 1956, and he has lived in the USA since 1989. He graduated from the College of Theatre Design in Odessa and the Parsons School of Design in New York, USA. Mikhail served as a design manager and sculptor at Excalibur Bronze Sculpture in NYC, where he worked on notable projects such as the Waldorf Astoria and Grand Central Terminal. For a decade, he contributed unique art collections for the Jed Johnson association.

His magical art pieces express life in bright colors, and his reliefs are infused with emotion, portraying elegant body movements that resonate within the realm of modern art.

Mikhail Khandros celebrates the freedom and universal beauty of our world through his contemporary art, including stunning paintings and sculptures. His art collections are influenced by renowned European artists such as Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Konstantin Korovin, and David Hockney, as well as iconic American artists like Jackson Pollock, Rockwell Kent, and Andy Warhol.

As a former theatre designer, Mikhail demonstrates remarkable diversity in his art techniques and media. He employs a wide range of traditional and modern art materials. Most recently, his unique techniques involve painting on canvas and cardboard, utilizing oil, acrylic, and glazing, often featuring subjects like fruit on canvas.

Mikhail’s inspiration springs from the beauty of his surroundings, with his work reflecting the emotions evoked from his extensive travels to France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Ireland, and the continental USA.
